So I seriously don't know what my issue is with keeping a blog. I just can't get it through my head this is what I am doing. Ha! Maybe by the end of the year I'll have it down.
Anyways, not much to update you all on, but the fact that the Flu and a nasty Cold is going around NorCal. And yes, I caught the flu and BAD, 3 days in bed. And other then that, there was work.
The exciting news about my internship is I just placed my order for my prayer cards! :) so that is pretty exciting just hope they turn out awesome.
Getting more and more excited about camp, but strangely enough getting more nervous. The devils is at work. And just at the right time I was able to read someone else's page on there adventure, but they are going all the way to Nigera....that is is West Africa. WOW!!! Anyways she talked about her freaking out about financial support and going out of the country for so long. And when she does freak out she realizes, she is not going alone and that God will indeed provided the needs for her whole trip. Boom!!! Such a God thing she posted that when I needed it the most.
February, already? Wow! It is crazy to think I'll be headed to Seattle in just a few weeks to go to my first Christian Camp Conference....so good. And I'm so excited to go and meet many other people passionate about camping ministry. God bless 'em!
So let me think, what has been going on since I last posted?! oh right, WORK! Ha. What's new right? I continue to think how blessed I am to even have a good paying, with quality hours job.
Camp seems to be getting closer and closer, maybe because it is :) And maybe because I'm getting things I need to do before it all starts. AH! Sorry, that was just me getting a little more excited. Ha! This is going to be awesome!!
I also have a group page with more updates and more specific details on facebook. Not going to put personal info on my blog, at least the group is somewhat protected on facebook, at least I think....ha. Anyways, if you are not a part of it yet, please message me on there and I will gladly add you.
I'm becoming more and more grateful for prayer support and how extremely blessed I truly am by all those who are praying for me now and will continue as I move to Washington. So, thank YOU!
So it has been a week since I last posted. Opps! My bad. Seriously there has been no big event to stop me from going on, just forgot. Anyways, the past week has been long and full of work. Yet that much closer to WA! :) can I get a whoop, whoop?! I'm really starting to enjoy my new laptop and looks like I will be keeping it seeing as tomorrow is the last day to return it. Ha!
You know those work days that seem to drag on FOREVER, that seems to be happening to me a lot more often lately. Maybe because A.) we are stuck inside because of the rain B.)I'm just getting beyond excited about moving C.) it is work! LOL. But still very thankful to have a job up until I move.
So I just recently put up some of my crocheted items on facebook to try and raise extra support for my internship, no such luck. Ha! It's all good, I'm sure they will all find a home eventually...
I love me some KU Jayhawk men's basketball :) especially when they get a 'W' Feels so good. March Madness is coming so quickly. YES, PLEASE!
I was also able to go to a fundraiser when Ryan and Sara Hall were in town for their foundation. For those of you who don't know Ryan Hall just made the men's marathon team for the Olympics, and his wife Sara will soon be trying to make the Olympics also. Awesome seeing as I grew up with Sara at church my whole life.
Sadly, to all my local peeps the 49ers lost in overtime and were not able to advance to the Super Bowl. Let's be honest though, I was a lot more sad when Tim Tebow and the Broncos did not make it the week before. Bummer deal.
Oh....The Bachelor. I'm predicting another AWFUL season, although the Bachelor is a local boy he is not doing his selection very well....Word to the Wise... DON'T PICK COURTNEY!!!!!! just saying...
More exciting news. My ALL TIME FAVORITE team, the San Francisco Giants will be playing the Seattle Mariners while I am in WA. YES, YES, YES!!!! Looking forward to that for sure.
So it is great to be making money again, but I always appreciate a day off during the week. The last few days have been just fine, nothing to crazy, but nothing awful either. I'll take it. On Tuesday I worked a half day, and what should be roughly a 20min drive home from work ended up being about an hour long drive. The 101 was backed up like crazy (bad accident) and I also had to pick up my mom from the store. Aww....the life of a 2 car family with 3 drivers, but we make it work and very blessed that we have 2 cars.
Wednesday was a 9-5 day, long but ended up being pretty fun after I built a fort for the kids I nanny for. They loved it. Good times for sure.
Thursday, the rain is finally here!! I love it. Nothing like the Great North West is getting right now, but we got our own storm going on here. Today was one of those days where you feel so fat at the end of the day, ate out lots! But enjoyed spending much needed time with friends :) And yes, also went to the Mall. (aka: Forever 21) Love it!
Back to work tomorrow. Mommy and Me day at gymnastics :) (aka: Nanny and me)
So late Saturday night I woke up feeling terrible. Strange, but laid there praying I would feel better in the morning, I ended up sleeping in and missing church that morning and yes I felt much better. Thank goodness for modern technology though. I was able to listen to a sermon on-line from my church. And although I wasn't able to spend time with my church family, I was able to hear a solid sermon, preached from the Word of God. Can I get an 'Amen'?! :) This will probably be one of the hardest things to leave once I move to WA. My church family, the place where I love to go to to dive into God's Word, with a pastor I consider like a brother (and yes, sometimes he acts like a Father, ha!) I know it will always be a place I can come back to with their doors wide open, and yes, I know God has a special church family in WA for me, but wow, sad days to come.
Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day aka: Day Off! A nice relaxing day to watch LOTS of sports, catch up on crocheting and other such things. And yes SLEEPING IN!!!
Pinterest, if you don't have one get one! Greatest place for crafts, recipes, and so much more. I've been testing out a few things and I'm lovin' it!
So praise the Lord I got a new laptop last night. Great deal, seems like a great computer and it works! :) God is so good in the fact I got $$ for Christmas, and had a job that is well paying when I got home from SoCal, I was already able to pay off my new laptop. Truly blessed. I'll keep you updated if the laptop survives. And hoping and praying I am able to save a few things off my old computer. Thankfully ALL my music was saved to my Zune (pretty much like an iPod for those of you who don't venture outside of the Apple world) Ha! So now just hoping I can get all my pictures and some old documents. But hey not too bad, right?!
Awww...Tim Tebow. Last week in the wild card game in the playoffs vs the Steelers, are you kidding me?! What a game!!! The 'W' in overtime on the FIRST play! Love it! Now it is time to play the #1 seed on their field. Can you ask for a better underdog story?! I think not! A team that started the season 1-4 now playing against the number one seed in the playoffs!!! So pumped, we have nothing to lose. While most people in town will be watching and cheering on our local team, the 49ers, I will be waiting for the Broncos game to come on.
And yes, the 3 day weekend. Just found out yesterday that I don't have to go into work on Monday!!!! woop, woop. Always a great feeling.
Side note: right now I am watching the Olympic trials for the Marathon. I know, I know...I hate running, seriously hate it, but I am proud to say I know someone in this trial. Crazy right?! I grew up going to church with his wife. And I am proud to say HE IS GOING TO THE OLYMPICS!! Representing the USA and he is a strong Christian man, awesome!! Can't wait to cheer him on in summer 2012!
1/13/12: New Things and paying for them by yourself.
So after roughly a week, a plane ride, a car battery dying, a laptop dying and going back to work. Here I am. Back on my blog. Updating on it all. And continuing to be thankful for things in my life everyday.
So I'm back home (for now) in NorCal, and back to work as a nanny. Grateful for a job to come home to, but boy am I ready to move to Washington and start my internship at camp. It's official Program Staff has been set for Summer 2012. I'm very much looking forward to it, but it will be a very different year from the last, always a good thing for areas of stretching and growth. Can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for this summer. It's going to be awesome!!! And can't wait to meet my new/old Day Camp Staff. For those of you who don't know, with Day Camp I'll be having new youth groups come in weekly to serve for one week each. A great way to meet many people who have the same mission in mind as I do, seeing young children won to the Lord.
So to update on thankful/praises for each day...
1/7/12: helping family
1/8/12: Tim Tebow ;)
1/9/12: planes! :)
1/10/12: days off
1/11/12: for having a job
1/12/12: learning new things (jumping a car battery)
So for those of you who don't know, I kind of have this obsession with crocheting. Kind of weird for a 20's something girl to love to do, but hey, it's all good. So in the past 24 hours I've made 2 new headbands (not a big deal for the big timers) but when you are in a house with 2 little ones, kind of a big deal. Anyways, just getting my beanie/scarf/etc. up in numbers before I move to the Great North West (WA). Good news is, I like cold weather :) crazy, right? The girl who grew up in California for the first 18 years of her life likes cold/rainy weather?! who knew! Anyways, just hanging out for a few more days in SoCal excited to go home and see my other 2 nephews and family, but going to miss this family very much. Not sure when I'll see them all next, so that is a strange feeling. But God is good, and will hopefully bring us back together soon.
More updates coming soon about camp stuff!! Thinking of how I'm going to make my prayer card and what I'm going to put in my prayer letter. (and really thinking how/what I'm going to type that all out on....ha!) Here's to high hopes a great laptop goes on AWESOME sale!!
Thankful/Praise of the day: (1/6/12) the ability to try new things.
So I realized I forgot to post yesterday, so starts the trend. So for yesterday...
Praise/Thankful for (1/4/12): for family :)
Today, has been more family time hanging out with the nephews and also receiving more e-mails about what my internship is going to look like. Every time I get an e-mail I get more and more excited. (I know I use the word, excited, a lot, but seriously, I'm PUMPED!) God has been working out this path over the past few years and it is awesome to see it playing out. God is so good!!
I know there are 100's of you reading this ;) ha, so sorry for missing a day and for this one being so short. I'll do better next time.
Praise for today (1/5/12): for being able to buy things.
So today I got more information about what I'll be doing as an intern at Camp Gilead in Washington. And I'm seriously getting so excited. I know this is truly where God wants me to be. Camp ministry had such an impact on my life growing up I just hope God can use me to give this same passion to young people in the beautiful state of Washington. And that lives would be changed for the better and that lives would be won to the Lord.
So this is when I start asking you to do something. Please! Please! Be praying for me, as details will be coming together quickly and that the support financially will be raised in an amazing way. I'm truly looking forward to look back on this blog and seeing where it all started to where I am at the end of the year.
It is late here, and I should be really getting to bed. It really takes a lot out of you when you are living in the same house as 2 little crying ones. But they are so.....cute! :)
Thankful for today (1/3/12): beautiful weather :) (SoCal Winters)
After countless reboots of the laptop and countless times of bringing it back to life the old laptop has finally hit the flat line. Sad, but true. Just one of those friendly reminders that the things of this world do not last forever. Praise the Lord that He and His Word do though. So after turning off my laptop (for most likely the last time) what happens to me?! A fever/headache hit! And they hit hard. Perfect way to start the New Year, right?! Ha! I beg to differ. But looking on the positive side of things, I was able to hang out with my family and celebrate Christmas (finally!) Awesome gifts given from the parents, siblings, nephews....good times. My favorite you ask? Tim Tebow's book and DVD. HELLOOOO!!!! (Yes, I'm sure I'll be mentioning that special guy a few more times throughout the year.)
So today, my parents headed back home and I'll continue to stay in Southern California for one more week helping out with the family and the new nephew. Looking forward to the week ahead, but also looking forward to going home because that means I am that much closer to Washington!! As we sit around eating dinner we are looking forward to watch the season premier of The Bachelor, that's right folks, I'm a reality tv fan. No judgement please! I'm also pretty excited about this season because the Bachelor is a local, living in the same county as myself. Pretty cool, I must say. So let me know who you are cheering for this season. :)
Hope you all had a much better start to your New Years than I did.
Thankful for today: (1/2/12) for the times when I am healthy.
So 2012 is finally here. (The year the world will end, haha, at least I'll be living in WA when this event occurs.) Ok, so most of us make fun of the world ending in 2012, but what if your life ends in 2012? Let's be honest we all are going to know someone that passes away this year. So let make a resolution to live each day like it is your last... So here are the resolutions: First, I'm going to not worry so much about my future, because really, worry literally gets me NO where, except stressing/no sleep/over eating. Ha! So just truly relying on Christ for all things in my life. Second, trying new things and getting out of my 'comfort zone' more often. The last time I got out of my comfort zone (big time) was when I got on a plane headed North and stood on a curb waiting for a random van to pick me up at the Seattle airport. And what happened you ask? I fell in love with Camp Gilead and made some amazing life long friends. So why in the world do I not do this more often?! So here is to more awesome times to come. Third, thinking and writing out something I am thankful for EVERYDAY. I recently joined 'Pinterest', (if you have not joined yet, I should say DON'T DO IT!!!!!! haha, but really it is great just use up a lot of time on it) while looking at all the neat ideas I stumbled across one that caught my eye. A 'praise journal' a simple 4 x 6 sheets of paper writing down daily things to be thankful for. (I'll be posting pictures of the cute papers I'll be using) Fourth, eat health and work out more. Ok, I know, so typical right? But seriously, I'll be turning 25 this year (wow, I'm getting old...ha) and weight does not fall off the body like it once did. Fail! So here is to eating less junk food/sitting around watching tv and to: throwing back more fruits/veggies and riding the bike/working the abs more. (no, I will not be running, at least not a lot, not a fan!) Five, keeping up with this pretty little baby, ha! This may be the hardest one to keep up with. Seriously though. So there it is I'm on blog post #2, wow! Doing good so far. Hope to keep this going. Maybe not a daily post, but at least a few times a week. Happy New Year all...enjoy the new year. And good luck with remembering to write 2012, instead of 2011. Seriously, going to mess that up multiple times throughout the year.
Praise Journal Entry: (1/1/12) Thankful for a New Year!
